BlackSun Horizon is a fusion of modern progressive black and death metal with epic cinematic melodies. The outfit is the brainchild of British composer/lyricist Salman Sharif. “Extreme metal provides a fulfilling dose of aggression that other musical genres simply can’t. However most metal out there lacks the musical richness of cinematic orchestral music. We are bridging this gap!”
The band showcases soaring melodies within their unmistakably rich "wall of sound" metal. Their musical identity has been shaped equally by modern Nordic metal and by film/game score composers such as Ramin Djawadi, Hans Zimmer, Thomas Bergersen, Jeremy Soule etc.
The band released their debut single I, Inferno in 2022.
Who Will Live To Tell The Tale, released in April 2023, is their inaugural album which attempts to tell the story of our universe. The combination of big instrumentation and counter-melodies sets this progressive black and death metal album apart. Evocative instruments like the Nordic Tagelharpa, Irish Uilleann Pipes, Armenian Duduk and Slovakian Fujara further enrich the sound of this distinctive album. The lyrical themes are metaphorical yet grounded in scientific theory. Finnish vocal maestro Topias Jokipii (Saasta) features with powerhouse vocals complementing the album's compositional range. British voiceover artist Neill Farkhondeh features with an unforgettably melancholic spoken word prologue and epilogue. The album was release as both vocal and instrumental versions.
