Blake Baxter a Detroit Techno music pioneer. one of the creators of the Detroit Techno music sound.
Blake was part of the first wave of House and Techno music DJs and producers from Detroit. Blake started producing music in 1985. His first productions were recorded in Chicago, originality due for release on DJ International record label. However, his official release was in 1987 on KMS Records in Detroit. KMS 011 his four-track E.P. 12 inch vinyl. The ep/12 music was reworked and remixed from some of his previous recorded productions due for release on DJ International. DJ international latter released some recordings in 1988-89. on DJ International and Westside Records Jack Masters Series compilations JACKLP 502 & JACKLP 504.
Back home in Detroit Blake was also involved with four music productions that were released on the compilation album titled “ The New Dance Sound of Detroit” in 1988, that was the compilation album that introduced the Detroit Techno sound to the world; released on “Virgin 10 records” DIXG 75. Notably, Blake also released music on the “Underground Resistance” record label in 1990 (Detroit) UR-006 and “Tresor Records” in 1991 (Berlin Germany) Tre-02.
Blake Baxter is currently releasing music from within his record label network “Mix Records”, Acid313, Afrodesitrax & Raw Data recordings, Technological Audio recordings all under the “Mix Media Music Group” umbrella.
