Blake McCoy is an example of where the road less traveled leads. Coming from a long line of family that showed no inclination towards music, his conviction that he was being called to be a songwriter and a recording artist was certainly not the most obvious option for him to take. He set out towards that dream, however; solely because of the belief that there was a greater purpose behind his calling. His debut EP Wilder First, scheduled for release late spring of 2019, is his first demonstration of that purpose. Bringing a refreshing and unique sound rooted in the tradition of country lyric and instrumentation, Blake tells part of his story to-date of his transition from the naive dreamer in "Fallin’ For It" to the unashamed and confident pursuer of success in the title track "Wilder First." Fortunately, not unlike many of the best stories, his remains in progress with much more to come.
