Blakestyle

Blakestyle is a producer, songwriter, performer, and independent artist from the Point Breeze neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Raised on the sounds of Run-DMC, the Beastie Boys, and LL Cool J, his early influences came from his parents’ love for hip-hop.

As he got older, Blakestyle drew inspiration from hometown icons Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller—not only for their roots in Point Breeze but also for their contributions to backpack and psychedelic rap, the genres he uses to define his sound.

Blakestyle first picked up drumming in junior high but soon realized his true passion was hip-hop. It wasn’t until high school that he began writing raps and producing music.

In 2021, he moved to New York City to study music technology at New York University. While there, he founded TUFF Cookie Productions, a creative collective that includes artists <a href="spotify:artist:3KaOtg7BT96tX706ruI43W" data-name="Sophie Yera">Sophie Yera</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:17WioyxBsrSh3xX1M1wlib" data-name="KAGE!">KAGE!</a>.
