Blessed Storm

Hi, my name is Mike Placide, songwriter and founder of Blessed Storm. The inspiration for this music project came from a very personal experience. Although I've played music off and on for nearly 40 years, I'd never felt called to write and produce original songs. Well, that all changed in 2015. While my wife and I had been through our share of storms in life (both individually and together), nothing would prepare us for 2015. After many years struggling to start a family, on June 27th, 2015 our first child, Oliver, was stillborn. As we held his little body and said goodbye, I honestly couldn't imagine ever feeling joy again as long as I lived. When faith gets tested, you stand in it, or walk away. We chose to stand...together in faith.


It wasn't long after that, the calling came. I was sitting in my office one day as I prayed and promised Oliver I'd see him again. The words just started coming. Within 30 minutes the lyrics for The Son Will Rise were written. I showed them to Melissa and we cried. I knew I had to share this song (and other songs of hope) with those who need to hear these words and know they are not alone. When faced with the worst of storms, we have a choice. We choose hope and faith in our Lord...and we are Blessed.
