Blonde Elvis plays "classical rock", a self aware style of retro futurist rock and roll that celebrates guitar music from all eras with playful satire, powerful vocals, diverse songwriting and psychedelic production techniques. Featuring members of Beams, Chandra and former members of Young Mother and Slim Twig, a Blonde Elvis performance is an affectionate (and sometimes funny) critique of the performer as icon and the ways artists choose to represent themselves to excite their audience. Blonde Elvis has shared the stage with many legendary bands over the years including Primal Scream, Thee Oh Sees, Super Furry Animals, Frog Eyes, Blue Hawaii and many more. They have been spending the last few years tinkering away in a home studio on an expansive collection of music that evokes everything from the swaggering glam of Roxy Music, Brian Eno, Pulp and Suede, the pastoral folk stylings of Bryter Layter era Nick Drake, the menacing post punk of Wire and the secular devotional spirit of rock and roll characteristic of Guided By Voices.
