The Blue Room is a pop/rock band who was popular in the Albuquerque music scene in the early 2000s. The band members included Mike McCabe (lead singer/guitarist), Nick Kadlec (bass), Jason Odell (drums) and Paul Michelman (lead guitar) . The Blue Room saw much success in the local music scene, even opening for Gavin Degraw at the Sunshine Theater in Albuquerque. The band eventually split up in 2005. Mike continued to play and write music and in 2024 he formed a new band called The Shim Shams with Blue Room bassist Nick Kadlec. The Shim Shams first album “Here We Go” will be released December 2025.
