CONFORMITY:

childhood
is where life goes to live.
adulthood
is where dreams go to die.

TRUTH:

if you’re going to live through truth
inevitably you will suffer
the truth becomes a lonely place
vacated by the weak, the proud, the bought
there
on the fringe
the truth becomes a minority
there
in the honesty
you become a threat
a conspirator.
leave it alone
can’t you just get on with life
you are dystopian, depressed, cynical
they will mock you in the darkness
smile in the light
save you at the alter
and kill you for their sins.
going against the grain is hard
going with the grain is impossible
so do it
their execration is desperation
let the genie out of the bottle
it’s the only path to true liberation
in life and in death
