A collaboration between Xiu Xiu's Jamie Stewart and Shearwater's Jonathan Meiburg, Blue Water White Death take their name from a 1971 documentary about shark hunters in Australia’s Dangerous Reef. While the duo’s music isn’t so literally perilous, it does feature the dread and drama of both musicians’ other projects. Working with the Paper Chase's John Congleton as producer, Stewart and Meiburg wrote and recorded a set of songs in the span of a week. The results were released as Blue Water White Death in October 2010 on Graveface Records. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
