BLUSH_RESPONSE is the sonic research apparatus of Cuban-American artist Joey Gonzalez,
based in Berlin after being born in Miami. Built for pressure and endurance, the project is
delivered through punishing live sets at venues such as Berghain, Tresor, and Khidi, and draws
from Blush’s background as a solo artist and member of Joey Jordison’s Scar the Martyr and
the industrial institution Front Line Assembly. A veteran sound designer, he has created and
programmed instruments for Nord, Elektron, Yamaha, and Arturia, contributed to releases by
Fear Factory and Cristian Castro, and collaborated with Richard Devine, Black Asteroid, Rhys
Fulber, and Bon Harris of Nitzer Ebb. BLUSH_RESPONSE operates at the edge of control,
using feedback, repetition, and mechanical force to produce uncompromising industrial techno
released through labels including Artoffact Records, Aufnahme + Wiedergabe, Ant-Zen, Sonic
Groove, and his own MEGASTRUCTURE.
