Blyolk has always been attracted to the outsiders in pop. Those who take what is standard and push for something more. An affinity for artists like Beck, St Vincent, Grimes as well as contemporaries Superorganism and Mura Masa, firmly place Blyolk (pronounced ‘bloke’) in the world of warped pop.

Melding sticky pop melodies, heavy beats, synth-inspired guitar, psychedelic-inspired samples, the result is as familiar as it is future-facing.

After three well-received singles Shun The Sun Because I Don't Breathe Youth, Artshole and Don Wowry and his first sold out headline show in 2018, the Melbourne producer/songwriter mostly withdrew for the year to write and record.

Blyolk returns in 2019 with Dogspeed, his most intense and introspective release yet. The track sees Blyolk release some hold on production duties for the first time, working with a number of collaborators including Toby Dundas of The Temper Trap.

These sessions were a chance to explore his identity and deep love for classic songwriting amongst the warped pop sonics that occupied Blyolk’s past songs.

With a burgeoning catalogue of new music bubbling under the surface, Blyolk is ready to deliver his aptly titled 'warped pop' to the world whether they're ready or not.
