BNZA (pronounced "Ben Za") is a Tibetan-Canadian singer-songwriter and producer based in Toronto. Born in Nepal and raised in Parkdale, he blends R&B, pop, and soul with a raw, reflective approach to storytelling. His music explores identity, resilience, and the human experience through a lens shaped by both Eastern roots and Western upbringing.
Since 2019, BNZA has independently released standout tracks like “Soul Tree,” “American Dream,” and “10 AM.” His 2024 single “SELFISH” highlights his growth, pairing honest lyrics with sleek production. Much of BNZA’s sound has been shaped in collaboration with Toronto-based engineer and producer DotDaEngineer, who has played a key role in mixing, mastering, and refining many of BNZA’s recent releases.
Live, BNZA’s impact is just as strong—he’s opened for JUNNY, Jimmy Brown, RUSSELL and headlined his own sold out show at Toronto’s Drake Underground. Influenced by G-DRAGON, Tame Impala, and Coldplay, he’s carving out a space that’s both genre-blending and emotionally resonant.
