Bob Kelly

Bob Kelly is a composer, pianist, and songwriter based in Minneapolis, MN. He worked for several years in NYC as a music director, arranger, and orchestrator in the world of musical theatre, and he continues to write musicals and play show tunes whenever the need arises, which is most of the time.

His work as a composer has been developed and supported by the National Alliance of Musical Theatre, the Yale Institute for Music Theatre, The Gallery Players, Leviathan Lab, and the Festival of New American Musicals in Los Angeles. His work as a music director and pianist has taken him on adventures across the country with regional theaters and educational programs, and even around the globe on Celebrity Cruises.

Bob was the 2013 recipient of the ASCAP Foundation Max Dreyfus Scholarship for musical theatre composition, and in 2020 he was a finalist for the Johnny Mercer Foundation’s Songwriters Project. He is a member of the Theatre Now New York International Musical Writers Lab.

His second EP IT BEGINS, IT BEGINS was released in October 2024.
