Played in my first band as a drummer at about the age of 15 Also did some singing Never felt anything like it!!! Never have been able to let it go First band "THE MARCUS REGULARS"
We did Stones and Beatles, oldies,Buddy HOLLY,Van Morrison etc, Moved on to the blues "DESPERATION BLUES BAND" Drug scene just started kicking in then Vietnam war was in full swing I ended up going to Northeastern University in Boston,Business Management.Hated every minute of it Dropped out and moved to a 150 acre farm in The Berkshires,Western Massachusettes because I believed with all my heart that I should dedicate my life to the fine art of songwriting (I still hold that belief) Up to that point in life I had failed at drum lessons, piano and guitar lessons and I had never written a song There was one time back then that I smashed a guitar over the top of a door because I was so frustrated But at the age of 22 I made the decision to pursue songwriting with all my heart It was obviously time to establish some direction in my life At that time I had a 1954 Ford
Vanette that was converted into a camper and I had my Hodaka dirt back strapped to the front I parked my camper by the stream at the base of the mountain on the 150 acre farm in Woranoco Some of my old band mates were already living in the farmhouse I proceeded to walk around everyday with my guitar in hand attempting to learn how to play it Progress did not come easy Of course I was trying to come up with song ideas and lyrics
