Bomb-October is an example of an artist that comes from Moscow high culture who suddenly delved into pop mainstream music and achieved success – if not commercial (at least for now), then definitely artistic. In his music, Vasily Mikhaylov cites the Russian musician Zemfira, turns to 2000s electronica that has already become retro, and does his best to create a gloomy atmosphere. But it’s in no way a hand-wringing drama – this music is about worldly pains and sorrows of a person who lives in Russia in 2020. (Nikolay Ovchinnikov, Afisha)
