"We've got a Top Five hit!" - Paul Oakenfold.

Thus was Boogie Macs' chart debut incorrectly predicted by the man who originally signed the duo and their single "Tankfly Boss" to kickstart his (then) new 48K label. And faster than top fan Fatboy Slim could write "These boys sound like Hamilton Bohannon meets Freddy Fresh at Doug Lazy station, I love it!", the Macs disappeared. Those are the breaks!

Return of the Macs.
Boogie Macs are back with bells and whistles and their beach party 'Todo O Mundo mix' of "The Girl from Ipanema". Gaye Bykers On Acid, Apollo 440 and former P.W.E.I. front man Mary Byker, is joined by wife Cecilia, his very own 'Garota de Ipanema', on vocals. Stan Francisco is the man on the sax, which incidentally, Boy George commandeered to open his 2014 US "Essential Mix" album, while French "styliste" Béatrice Ardisson includesda version on her classy "La Musique De Paris Dernière" series - a work that also featured Stevie Wonder, the Four Tops and José Feliciano.

In short, this uplifting version of the second most covered song in history has been quietly waiting at the bus stop of fame for a while now. Why not stick out a thumb, hail that boogie bus and give the Boogie Macs rework of "The Girl From Ipanema" the ride to Rio it so plainly deserves?
