From their seminal underground releases in the ’90s through to their recent GRAMMY nomination, Booka Shade (Walter Merziger & Arno Kammermeier) continue to prove exactly why they remain at the heart of electronic music.
Originally from Frankfurt, they quickly gained a strong following. In 2002 they formed the now legendary label Get Physical Music (together w/ M.A.N.D.Y., Thomas ‘DJ T.’ Koch and Peter Hayo). In 2005 the band release the international successes ‘Mandarine EP’ & ‘Body Language’ (co-prod. w/ M.A.N.D.Y.) launching them into the stratosphere.
Since their Sónar break-through in 2005 Booka Shade earned huge recognition with their innovative live shows. Opening for legendary acts such as Depeche Mode & Kraftwerk & headlining stages inc. Coachella, Glastonbury, Rock Werchter & Red Rocks. They have been named one of Resident Advisor's Top 5 live acts in the world & DJ Mag’s ’10 Unforgettable Sets From The History Of Exit Festival’. Booka Shade were recently inducted into Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 Hall of Fame

Blaufield Music founded in 2013 is the band’s label for releasing their own music & also other artists & emerging talent.
Twenty years, dozens of EP’s & nine albums later, Booka Shade have become more than a household name, they have become synonymous with the spirit which drives electronic music & have set a precedent to which electronic music is still held to today.
