Boom Said Thunder is a fuzzed-out rock trio formed in Boston in 2011. Abby Martinez (vocals), Will Thomas (drums), and John Magnifico (bass) met at Continuum, the design agency where they worked, and turned its basement into their after-hours rehearsal space. There, they carved out a sound that’s heavy, sweaty, and bombastic, yet full of melody and mood. Maximum fuzz. Minimal fuss.
Over their run, Boom Said Thunder released one full-length album and several EPs, earning a reputation for explosive live shows and a uniquely primal take on rock.
Active contributors to the underground shoegaze and psych rock scenes, the band first made their mark in Boston (2012–2013) before relocating to Brooklyn (2014–2015), where they connected and shared stages with acts such as Ringo Deathstarr, Major Stars, Thick, and Plates of Cake.
The band disbanded in 2016, but their recordings remain as a testament to their singular, high-voltage approach.
