Michigan-born rapper Boss Ruff launched his career with the crew G.G. Boyz before breaking out as a solo artist with his 2012 EP Smokin Hit Sizzlin, featuring local hits “Swaggtastic” and “Hit Me on Facebook.” The project earned him a deal with international label Expat Records and connected him with D-Block producer Don Mega for a collaborative album that was never released due to a prison sentence.

After serving 18 months, Boss Ruff returned with “Watch Yo B” featuring A. Goff (SODMG) and dropped “Gasoline,” followed by a collab with Soulja Boy’s DJ, DJ Wats. He built momentum through Hood Box Office videos with viral star Young Dopeman and T.P. (Max B/French Montana’s Coke Wave). Just as his buzz grew beyond Michigan, he was incarcerated again, serving 3.5 years.

Released in 2018, Ruff reintroduced “Gasoline” and hit regional stages, opening for Tekashi 69, G-Herbo, and Young Dolph. His planned debut single “Motorola” in 2019 stalled after another prison term, but upon his 2023 release, Boss Ruff relocated to Bangkok, Thailand where he is now rebuilding his career and dropping new music with a global vision.
