Bottomless Coffee Band

In October 2022, Lourens and Esté Raaf announced that the time has come for their creativity and sound to take a new pathway. What was known as "Bottomless Coffee Band" will merge into @RAAF - their family name.


Bottomless Coffee Band was formed at Stellenbosch University. After completion of their studies, Lourens ventured into the corporate sector as an Investment Analyst; Esté started out as a young actress and also headed up a theatre company.

After releasing their debut album "Room With A View" in 2014, BCB became local crowd favorites for melodic storytelling and electrifying performances, inspiring the nostalgia of the folk-rock legends of yesteryear.


The successful release leads to the couple quitting their corporate careers and taking their music on the road. With their diverse backgrounds from Rock ’n Roll, Theatre and Esté's Classical Singing, the duo created something unique during that era of folk-driven modern-day music. 4 albums later and Lourens & Esté Raaf operated as an active touring band, performing +150 concerts every year.


During the pandemic, they started writing on their debut mother tongue album, titled PREDIKER. It soon became evident that their sound and creativity progressed into something more mature that called for a new era. They announced that the student days are over and they will be "bringing the band home under their family name".
