Singer/songwriter, Boy Rae, was born and bred in Ogun State, Nigeria. He is known for his mesmerizing melodies and lyrics. At the age of 12, he started writing songs, gaining inspiration from his diverse cultural environment as well as his personal experiences. Boy Rae's music, which combines catchy beats with soulful storytelling, captures the energy of Nigeria. His music combines modern hip-hop and African sound with significant influences from Polo G, The Kid Laroi, Ckay, Rema, etc. It's a distinctive blend of both tradition and innovation. With the “RAE” in his name standing for “Rhythm and Emotions”, he calls his style of music emo-afrobeat, which is a sub-genre of afrobeats that involves the outpour of emotions. Although he’s been featured on several songs by C1ive, he officially kicked off his career by releasing his highly anticipated debut single “Need you the most”.
