The Boys on the Black Stuff is a 5 piece acoustic band from Gibraltar whose songs are greatly inspired by Irish folk, folk music or Celtic punk. This band was originally formed by Adrian Pisarello out of his love and admiration for bands such as The Pogues and the Dubliners.
The Band:-
Adrian Pisarello – Song writer, Lead Vocals & Acc. Guitar
Eric Rowbottom – Acc. Guitar, & Backing Vocals
Jonathan Bugeja – Banjo, Melodica, Keyboards & Backing Vocals
Jason Belilo – Bass & Backing Vocals
Francis Pecino – Cajon
‘Songs of Drink and Demise’ is the 'Boys in the Black Stuff's’ debut album. As the title suggests, most of the lyrics talk about different alcohol and/or death scenarios, but in reality it’s about coping with the ups and downs of life itself. In this album there is happiness and sorrow, dealing with loss and celebration of life. The music, clearly inspired by Irish Folk, Folk or Acoustic Celtic Punk, perfectly embraces and sets the required mood for each set of lyrics.
