There’s an exciting new artist coming out of Toronto’s boroughs. Born in Manhattan and raised in Toronto, Boyscoutsam takes pride in creating music that reflects his life experiences. His single mother left Jamaica to provide her son with opportunities only to be met with a series of unfortunate circumstances. Being placed in the foster care system in Canada at a young age, Boyscoutsam’s soul-searching lyrics reflect the resilience required to survive the gritty environment. Intentionally avoidant of being restricted to one sound, Boyscoutsam has made a name for himself with sounds ranging from melodic hip-hop to emo-trap.
