Having first met many years ago, and having sold more than 60 million records combined Abz Love (FIVE); Ben Ofoedu (PHATS & SMALL); Dane Bowers (ANOTHER LEVEL) and Shane Lynch (BOYZONE) have united to release their first single Stay Another Day featuring Tony Mortimer.
A cover of the East 17 classic Stay Another Day, it is a celebration of the band’s combined love of the music which changed so much of their lives during the 1990s, the decade which they now look to bring back to the fore in a time when audiences crave happiness and escapism.
The song was recorded by Boyz On Block and was never intended to be released as a single, until the record label and the bands management heard the track and realised how special it was, and immediately changed focus, with Stay Another Day becoming Boyz On Block’s debut single, All My Life is now planned for release in early 2021.
The band played the song to East 17s Tony Mortimer who said “I didn’t think Stay’ would be a single let alone achieve what it did and still have people into it 26 years later. It’s very humbling. I’m a huge fan of all the boys individually and I was really excited to hear their version collectively. I was honoured I could play the piano on it and Abz’s lead vocal has just blown me away, I love it. I think it’s a brilliant version”
