Brad Billmaier is a multi-faceted jazz percussionist, bandleader, and composer. Growing up in Toledo, Ohio, Brad cut his teeth playing in the city's clubs and frequently traveling to Detroit, Ann Arbor, Cleveland, and neighboring hubs for live jazz. Brad graduated with a degree in jazz drumset from the University of Toledo and went on to pursue a master's degree in jazz studies at Bowling Green State University where he held a teaching assistantship. Brad's first self-penned release "Starless" was released in 2021 and features a quartet consisting of saxophonist Peter Formanek, pianist Kenton Davey, bassist Aidan Cafferty, and Brad himself on drums. The quartet was assisted in places by trumpeter Ben Wolkins and guitarist Max Bowen, and the project was recorded by Ian Gold at Willis Sound and mastered by reverend jazz audio-engineer A.T. Michael MacDonald.
