It might be apropos to consider Breakpoint Integrity as the Phoenix rising from the ashes of Fate on Canvas (FOC). As a co-founder, singer, guitarist, front man, and main composer of FOC, I decided to venture out on my own and release a few songs back in 2015. A few songs became 8, and by 2017, the first self-titled Breakpoint Integrity Album was ready for release. Compromise, the leading track, turned out to be fairly popular amongst listeners. Who knew a song about cheating would connect with so many people? In truth, much of the album is about compromising yourself under stress, both emotional and physical, or even sexual, and engaging in less than noble activities to assuage said stress, but ultimately reclaiming your integrity. The sophomore release, Waves of Infection, has a few personal songs about friends and family, love, and envy. Much of it, however, is centered around our highly idealogically infectious age of smartphone existence, particularly with all that went on in 2020. As such, there are many direct and indirect references to the concurrent COVID pandemic, many times as an analogy to popularized viewpoints spreading like the virus itself. With COVID, BLM, and the election, 2020 was nothing short of a media circus on steroids. With all of us trapped inside, the TV our All-American, age old companion, we had to channel our cabin fever somehow. Waves of Infection was how I channeled mine. Enjoy, everyone!
