The band was formed in early 2014 by Dori Chee and Ofir Abe (previously members of Guidance, a leading band in the Israeli underground musical scene of the early 2000s). The two joined with Naama Aviram and Dekel Paz, and together they make music with influences ranging from alternative rock to post-prog, from Radiohead to Tool.
In a short time, breed recorded and released their debut EP, which brought up great reviews: “They know how to write one hell of a rock song… and they aren’t generic one-trick ponies” (Gallifrey's music blog, NZ).
Additionally, they released a single called No Air featuring the majestic G-Me, which got the attention of main figures in the Israeli music scene: “This uncharacteristic ballad smells like a hit” (Amir Ascher, Haaretz).
breed performed in main rock venues in Tel Aviv, such as the Tmuna Theater, Levontin7 and The 3rd Ear. Future gigs include shows in “The Alternative Collective” festival (Tel Aviv) and in Ashan-Hazman (Beer-Sheva). breed also hosts open rehearsals, which give the fans an intimate setting as well as peak at the band’s writing process.
