Along with Shirley Joiner and Carl Preacher, gospel vocalist Brenda Waters formed the Southeast Inspirational Youth Choir in the '70s, which helped pioneer contemporary gospel music in a church setting. She also worked with <a href="spotify:artist:40tzRHO6w4wROAdb6Sr21l">Donald Lawrence</a>, appearing on his 1993 debut album A Songwriter's Point Of View.
