Brendan Codey is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter.
Codey self-released his debut EP, <a href="spotify:album:29Zd1la1wKfooem9d6H8s8" data-name="A Bottle House Vernacular">A Bottle House Vernacular</a>, on his label blueeyedboy in the Fall of 2010. Recorded in Chicago in the Winter of 2007, the songs on Bottle House are inspired by outsider and visionary artists–with songs intended to be more invocation than profile of the various artists and characters alluded to in the song titles.
<a href="spotify:album:3NHs7pHi4oxuoB5hiepJzv" data-name="Casco">Casco</a> was released in Feb. of 2012 by the Philadelphia label Treetop Sorbet. Recorded largely in Portland, Maine in his mid twenties, Codey never intended Casco to be formally released. <a href="spotify:album:7wPr0q5pma9pYuYmHb9JzX" data-name="Twin Chimney">Twin Chimney</a>, a three song cassette put out on Marmara Records, followed Casco in March of 2013. <a href="spotify:album:0nuhtm0I7tRGcZUPyQGRlU" data-name="My Kingdom for a Jake Leg">My Kingdom for a Jake Leg</a>, self released on blueeyedboy in 2016, is a collection of older tracks recorded between 2001 and 2013.
He's been involved in a number of side projects with members of <a href="spotify:artist:5jU5a88qL9FCzLNQuAh2E9" data-name="Cough Cool">Cough Cool</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:084Xpst0FjTQ6xhKjH7nwO" data-name="Interest Group">Interest Group</a>, most notably Alpine Roses with <a href="spotify:artist:2JQMxdC1Y2ano7TipnsGeD" data-name="Dan Svizeny">Dan Svizeny</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0STGQosjm7c6fZhBoQ08C6" data-name="Hippy Johnny">Hippy Johnny</a>, who opened for <a href="spotify:artist:3kgMrPFH0ks5wCrZDYh9DN" data-name="Spacin'">Spacin'</a> once, and disbanded when Codey moved to Berlin, Germany.
Codey is currently working on his debut record with <a href="spotify:artist:3lIoNmmVMhWTEuwZMWFWq1" data-name="Jeff Zeigler">Jeff Zeigler</a>, Charlie Hall, Robbie Bennett, Ryan Jewell, Marissa Lesnick, Paul Sukeena, Sigmund Washington, & others.
