Brennt Vanneste, born in 1992, is known for his atmospheric grunge-core tracks with STAKE. He’s explored every edge of the alternative scene, creating techno soundscapes, atmospheric dance tracks, and the high BPM chaos of KLAKMATRAK. At 14, he performed noise concerts with scrap gear. By 19, his psytrance project Psygasus took him to the Sahara Desert and Europe's forests.
Together with his girlfriend, he runs Stimular, organizing Ghent's biggest hardcore events. In their analog-packed studio, they shape new sounds and visuals. He’s collaborated with Raveyards, scored music for 2dezit (Streamz), composed for the BAM video game, and scored films like My First Highway and won an Ensor for it! He also created the soundtrack for Thank God It’s Friday, a documentary filmed in Israel and Palestine, where he ended up hiding in a trashcan from rubber bullets and smoke grenades during protests.
With STAKE, he worked with Roxie Ryan (Alice Cooper) and, during Gutterdämmerung concerts, played songs alongside Henry Rollins and Kevin Armstrong (David Bowie). Now, under his own name, he’s releasing Escapades I, II & III — a 3.5-hour journey through lo-fi, noise, and atmospheric vibes, touching on themes of love, loneliness, self-harm, and hope.
Brennt Vanneste invites you into his world — a hug in sound, spirit, or for real. <3
