With unflinching candor & literary precision, Brett Gleason reveals his perspective as a gay man with bipolar disorder through music that transforms tender ballads into soaring epic moments.
While his piano-based songwriting & soulful tenor remain constant, Brett’s ability to embrace a wide palette of soundscapes and emotions makes him a one-of-a-kind artist with comparisons to artists as diverse as Tori Amos, Trent Reznor & Rufus Wainwright.
Gleason was born in Long Island, New York where a speech impediment would lead to a childhood immersed in the arts. At 17, he moved to New York City to study music and literature at the New School University.
Now based in Los Angeles the multi-instrumentalist has produced 3 albums to critical acclaim and is still experimenting with new sounds and styles one his new singles 'Forgive Yourself', 'Something Brand New' & soon, 'Sensory Deprived'.
"Mystical & mesmerizing" - Goldmine Magazine
“This is an artistic, almost romantic return to the 1990’s Alternative sound.” - Skylight Magazine
“A genuine existential poet…primitive rock played with authenticity accompanied by lyrics that tell moments of love and loneliness, hope and poverty.” - Extra Music Magazine
