Opera Singer Bridgette "Bri" Cooper ran for United States Congress in 2020 and 2018 to a strong showing. She is an award-winning Mezzo Soprano, whose unique vocal timbre and stage presence have been compared to the legendary contralto, Marian Anderson. She is the producer, host, and creator of two podcasts Harbour for the Arts™ "Where the Performing and Creative Arts Meets Lifestyle", and Bri Cooper and Company™, a podcast that promotes civic dialogue about a variety of topics. Her TV show Operaluscious™ aired in Washington DC, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and New York.
Bri hosted her first international TV special "Bri Cooper and Friends" which paid tribute and celebrated the Independence of the Bahamas where her roots are. Bri was featured in a two-page article "The Work I Do" in Black Enterprise Magazine, ABC's Here and Now, Scholar Magazine, and was honored with the Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award from East Carolina University. Ms. Cooper is the recipient of several national and international awards of singing, including the Paul Robeson National Vocal Award, NATS Regional and State winner, Bel Canto Vocal Award of Chicago, YWCA Studio Club Award, as well making her Carnegie Hall debut in the critically acclaimed "Voices of the New Millennium" Concert, and nominated as Favorite Indie Artist of the Year.
