Brian Gore, known as a "poet of the guitar," has a distinctive style that blends folk, jazz, and Americana. Gore built his reputation through International Guitar Night, performing in duet and quartet with Pierre Bensusan, Ralph Towner, Guinga, and Martin Taylor. He came of age in San Francisco's impressionistic "open tuning" era, receiving encouragement from William Ackerman and Alex de Grassi. Following the footsteps of Michael Hedges, early on, he integrated multiple capos, slapping, tapping, and percussion into his playing. His latest solo pieces include the harp guitar, bongo, and foot drums. San Francisco’s 48 Hills called his singer-songwriter debut, Seek the Love You’re Yearning, “a deeply heartfelt, folk-infused journey that bares Gores' vulnerability, something refreshing in an age of artifice.”
