Brian Price is an indie singer/songwriter and guitarist from Pittsburgh, PA. His highly original, lyrical, meticulously crafted songs draw inspiration from John Hiatt, Marshall Crenshaw, REM, Squeeze, and XTC and explore the often-overlooked quirks of daily life, well-worn relationships, and contemporary culture. A radio production and creative director by day, he’s worked with many luminaries of the Pittsburgh music scene, some of whom lent their talents to his records, including guitar hero Rick Witkowski who appears on all three.

Tired of Singing in My Car was a passion project never meant for wide release. But it quickly took on a life of its own, was reviewed as “original, unpredictable writing worth reading for imaginative ideas and images”, and led to live performances around town with his musician friends. Buoyed by the enthusiasm, his follow-up Sunlight from You moved into even more sophisticated and nuanced territory, examining modern cultural unrest in one breath and 1970’s vinyl album rituals in another. His newest release, Better Than Yelling, was written on and inspired by the tenor guitar. The instrument is his current muse and was his constant companion during the pandemic, when he had the time to elevate his songwriting and sharpen his unsparing gaze on the world we live in.
