Brie Spaulding

Chicago-based singer/songwriter and producer Brie Spaulding released her debut single in late 2020. She was born Brianna Kate Spaulding on August 14, 1998 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Spaulding studied psychology at Loyola University Chicago and spent the majority of her college career working as an emergency medical technician. Struggling with anxiety and depression throughout this time, she realized her true passion when she found herself hiding away to write songs and produce music as often as possible.


The self-taught artist cites her previous studies as having a major impact on her music. Her studies of physics and other sciences largely contributed to her ability to self-teach music production, and her studies in psychology support her ability to write lyrics with greater depth and connection to a wider audience. Spaulding also cites her dark, but enlightening, experiences in the medical field to breathe unique life into her creations, as she often shared strangers' most emotionally challenging moments.


With a variety of musical influences such as FINNEAS, Banks, VÉRITÉ, Sabrina Claudio, LANY, and Colouring, Spaulding creates music that transcends genre and highlights both the darkness and the comfort of hope that define human experience.
