Broederliefde, which translates to brotherly love, is a Dutch pop-rap collective formed by childhood friends from the Spangen neighborhood of Rotterdam. Though the group started with a shared interest in sports and just socializing, once member Emms started rapping, others joined in, and they soon became a recognized music act in the neighborhood and, by 2012, throughout Rotterdam. After early songs garnered hundreds of thousands of plays on YouTube, they released a self-titled mixtape in late 2012 that led to a record deal with Universal. The EP Gevoelig Feestje marked their major-label debut in the summer of 2014. It hit number three on the Dutch albums chart. The LP Hard Work Pays Off followed in 2015, and Broederliefde's second full-length, Hard Work Pays Off 2, topped the chart in the Netherlands in 2016. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
