Brontae fell in love with songwriting and voice during her adolescence, after spending her childhood immersed in the heartmusic of her parents and grandparents: Irish trad, bluegrass, and classic country.
Ever since, she has been exploring the infinite possibilities of song and orchestra driven by text. After a three year study at The National Theatre School of Canada, she became curious about how audio drama could meet the studio album. This pursuit inspired her first record, The Jubilant Opus of the Day, which she released in October 2021.
She continues to pen songs as though they were tiny plays, striving to expand her perspective one character at a time. She is drawn to the farcical and the surreal; writing about love, the occult, celebration, and ancestral connections.
