The third song by Brotherhood of the Crystal Star, Colder Than a Traitor's Heart, is out now!
Based on The Caverns of Kalte, the third Lone Wolf fantasy gamebook by Joe Dever, the song takes us north to the frozen wastes of Kalte on a quest to apprehend the traitorous wizard Vonotar.
While listening to the intro, picture Lone Wolf standing on the prow of the Cardonal, his cape whipped by chilly ocean winds, mentally preparing for the arduous quest ahead. In the verses, imagine yourself in vast, icy caverns. Listen out for crystalline tones. Look out for Choly's epic guitar solo. Fuelled by whisky and late night creativity, it describes the climactic battle with Vonotar. The emotional momentum of the song is all about vengeance, which culminates in the massive, triumphant outro.
The Brotherhood of the Crystal Star is on a quest to celebrate the Lone Wolf gamebooks. We're here to honour Joe Dever and the work of all the creators involved in the world of Magnamund, past and present, through the language of music.
The Brothers met at school (a monastery, in our minds). At the tender age of ten, we became firm friends by bonding over the original twelve Lone Wolf gamebooks. 35 years later, we are ploughing our lifelong passions in music and fantasy worlds into a series of songs shaped by the world of Lone Wolf.
