Bruise Bath is a sludge-y slowcore band that worships harmonies, feedback, and unbearable weights. The north star of influences are Slint and circa 2008 Mount Eerie, although you can make out others if you're inclined to. There have been over 17 members who have played a gig with this project, some only once, but this six-person lineup is the most solidified the band has ever been, and likely ever will be. Bruise Bath is not prescriptive. There are no solutions or suggestions in the music, just clear-eyed contemplation of Philadelphia's uniquely cruel brand of pessimism. It's an election year. What better time to embrace the warm hug of pitiable wallowing and loud amplifiers? If it works, you'll feel like you got the warmest hug on the worst day of your life.
