BSelf1der is one half of the Legendary group Ghetto Chilldren (opposite Vitamin D) and The Intergalactically acclaimed Tribal Productions Crew has been emceeing since the 1990s. Influences include De La Soul, ATCQ, Outkast, The Roots, Hieroglyphics, DITC, and ALL BLACK MUSIC EVER CREATED. I come from a time when you had to be saying something of value,you could have as much fun as you want, talk about whatever you want but by the end of an artists' album there was a take away, some nugget of information or understanding that made the listen experience culturally important and not just entertainment. It could be as powerful as Chuck D saying "Fight the Power" or as subtle as De La Soul saying "Me, Myself and I" or Brother J saying "Raise the FLag" but it was well understood that this is more than music and we have a responsibility to our communities represent our people well.
