<a href="spotify:artist:5c570XBYBetraAQaO1Xk2j" data-name="Buchanan">Buchanan</a> is the project of UK-born Josh Simons in collaboration with friends. In January 2019 they announced their retirement with a mixtape called <a href="spotify:album:7yh1gzlEuPvJ07gujImBGN" data-name="The Crayon Collection">The Crayon Collection</a>. Celebrating the band&#39;s 10 year career, the mixtape includes <a href="spotify:track:2bHMdiKDPoDUtNHSOlj1jk" data-name="The Beep Test">The Beep Test</a>, originally released in November 2016 ahead of the band&#39;s sold-out arena support tour with <a href="spotify:artist:0u2FHSq3ln94y5Q57xazwf" data-name="Keith Urban">Keith Urban</a> &amp; <a href="spotify:artist:4xFUf1FHVy696Q1JQZMTRj" data-name="Carrie Underwood">Carrie Underwood</a>. The single was the first taste of Simons’ writing sessions at GOOD Music in Los Angeles with producer Anthony Kilhoffer (<a href="spotify:artist:5K4W6rqBFWDnAN6FQUkS6x" data-name="Kanye West">Kanye West</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3nFkdlSjzX9mRTtwJOzDYB" data-name="JAY-Z">JAY-Z</a>). They next collaborated on <a href="spotify:artist:18HVMQsV3tINaTyzT5UIjH" data-name="CyHi">CyHi</a>&#39;s debut album <a href="spotify:album:79yQxmlPsMM41NH3AiVSNK" data-name="No Dope On Sundays">No Dope On Sundays</a> where Simons &amp; Kilhoffer co-wrote &amp; produced <a href="spotify:track:0AU50oV3ypRPSxXqpmFGSd" data-name="I&#39;m Fine (feat. Travis Scott)">I&#39;m Fine (feat. Travis Scott)</a>. This was followed up with production &amp; writing on <a href="spotify:artist:1tUALn7PEhW7LpMuxvat2x" data-name="Allan Kingdom">Allan Kingdom</a>&#39;s <a href="spotify:album:5R78Nz8vFSselsUXSEOz0A" data-name="Peanut Butter Prince">Peanut Butter Prince</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6IrPXagDuE6hxorH635Rtz" data-name="Tre Capital">Tre Capital</a>&#39;s album <a href="spotify:album:4ZLIkVPClBSnRfIMYnfjtp" data-name="Hero">Hero</a> &amp; <a href="spotify:track:6PK0kTSblI5AyWsOv5UkaR" data-name="Church Of The Lonely">Church Of The Lonely</a> for <a href="spotify:artist:4fuZypKGg7klMEF10KTuAN" data-name="Cobi">Cobi</a>. In 2024 Simons co-produced <a href="spotify:album:1l3wbd9AZCHsXnbofHaXK6" data-name="My Sky">My Sky</a> by <a href="spotify:artist:6ii597RU1C6t7DQKIXFvzl" data-name="Emmanuel Kelly">Emmanuel Kelly</a>, from his <a href="spotify:album:31rnwdlAjENdqVAEzaBsZ1" data-name="No Zodiac">No Zodiac</a> EP, which Simons executive produced alongside Chris Martin, who invited Kelly and Simons to open for <a href="spotify:artist:4gzpq5DPGxSnKTe4SA8HAU" data-name="Coldplay">Coldplay</a> on the record-breaking Australasian leg of their <a href="spotify:album:06mXfvDsRZNfnsGZvX2zpb" data-name="Music Of The Spheres">Music Of The Spheres</a> World Tour.


The band has released two critically acclaimed studio albums, <a href="spotify:album:0pFo4o1kBMiIMbBoxuZZk8" data-name="Human Spring">Human Spring</a> &amp; <a href="spotify:album:59UV6yFcUa9oc5uD0Tl64h" data-name="Pressure in an Empty Space">Pressure in an Empty Space</a>. The latter was released in April 2016 &amp; was recorded in the UK with renowned producer Simon Duffy (<a href="spotify:artist:72hqBMsw7x5jnfxxwkii8L" data-name="Leftfield">Leftfield</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1zV9UjTUevjp5VUddqIUUn" data-name="Mr Hudson">Mr Hudson</a>). It was described by Tone Deaf as &#34;a stunning &amp; incredibly moving piece of work.&#34;

Simons currently serves as CEO of Vinyl Group (ASX: VNL) and is the founder of musician social-professional network Vampr.
