Budda Child AKA Sonny Cheeba was born and raised in the borough of NDG in Montreal, Canada. He opened up for legendary artists such as Havoc of Mobb Deep, Big Noyd, Lord Finesse of D.I.T.C., DJ Q-Bert and the Godfather of Hip Hop, DJ Kool Herc. Budda Child performed in various clubs and venues around Montreal such as Metropolis, Club Soda, Le Belmont, Foufounes Electriques etc. He also won the award for “Best Anglophone Writer-Composer” at the Hip-Hop 4Ever competition in 2003. He released his solo debut album “One in a Billion” independently through his own label, Intricate Plot Records, on Chinese New Year on Feb 19th 2015. Since then he has released 4 more solo albums, and one joint album with Tokyo S3nsei titled “Toke Budda” in 2019. In 2021, Budda Child released 2 solo albums: “By Hook or By Crook” (Produced by Skybeatz) and “Thr33 Generations” (Produced by Merker Miyagi). In 2022, he released Be Water, a concept album inspired by Bruce Lee. In 2023, he just released his latest EP, Hurry Up And Buy! In 2024, he plans to release 2 more solo albums produced entirely by Merker Miyagi.
