BUKKY, an independent musician driven by an adventurous and nomadic lifestyle is defined by his peers as a being of constant transience.
His music, compared with the likes of early Pink Floyd, Donovan and Anton Newcombe’s Brian Jonestown Massacre is single handedly composed and produced in effort to illuminate the heart of the lonesome traveler. His latest project “Bukky’s Sonance” is based in the genre of acoustic psych-folk.
Inspired by his own travels, he trotted all across the EU for half a decade, hopping from one reality to the next and embedding himself in various underground music scenes. Without possessing the ability to settle down, he gained experience as an artist in Europe by constantly busking and backpacking from town to town, always with his guitar in hand. He made waves at his debut show in Southern Portugal, selling out a ghetto-themed Brazilian bar for all of his friends living on an island not far from the city. It was coined as ‘the night which we were overrun by gringos.’ Since returning to his home continent of Australia he has played at Brisbane’s Junk Bar, The Triffid and The Tanks (Cairns).
Now he endeavors to retain his dream of being a self established and independent musician, collaborating and focusing on mastering his craft all whilst being on the go and bearing in mind his ecological footprint.
His latest single ‘Saudade’ has been reviewed by the likes of Steph Hughes (Dick Diver / Boom Gates) as ‘a lovely sunstroked lullaby.’
