Simon Chainsaw started Vanilla Chainsaws back in the 80's and their sound was a thick roar of layered guitar chords as opposed to a riff-based sound with a common point of comparison being Husker Du...the guitar style is particularly similar. Simon went on after Vanilla Chainsaws to release over 10 solo albums mostly while living in Brazil. He now resides back in Sydney Australia. Kent Steedman is the lead guitarist from the Celibate Rifles one of Australia's premiere indie rock bands from the 80's and 90's. After the death of lead singer Damien Lovelock Kent embarked on a solo career and has released numerous titles under his name and also side projects Radio Ksg, Deep South and touring with Jim Mogine(Midnight Oil).
