BullyWest was formed in 2012 by Manny Velez (Lead singer/rhythm guitar) and a few other high school buddies Tharon Weighill (bass) Jermy Ciccone (drums) Clayton Hoffman (lead guitar) the band would play a few gigs around Oakland/Berkeley ca. such as the Starry Plough pup and the uptown. but after a brief run Tharon would leave the band to start a family in Denver CO as well would Clayton. Jeremy chose to pursue other musical endeavors leaving Manny a solo act for close to a year. Originally the band was to be called Bully then changed to West but after much thought and many beers Manny settled on BullyWest. The name seemed to encompass an attitude in which Manny adopted to his performance. soon after the name was set, Manny was introduced to Shane DeLea (bass) Chris Mahon (lead guitar) and Foxx Fisher (hand drums) at a local brewery. Shane then asked his brother inlaw Bernt Strom who was already a known local legend to try out for drums. Not really wanting to join another band but still wanting to help out with up coming gigs Bernt agrees to play a few shows. the band plays Ej Phair Pittsburg as this lineup for the first time and Bernt agrees to join the band fulltime. they were complete... BullyWest would then go on to release 3 EP'S and 1 single, headlined Mountain Vibe music gathering, an appearance on a local network Bsides on air as well as numerous radio and podcast interviews. the band is currently on hiatus due to covid and new Bullies being born.
