Bummer Status formed in 2015 when drummer Doug Lane, bassist Elliott Kenney, and guitarist <a href="spotify:artist:1J5fpoTGCimrQBKZ1wylAw" data-name="Nicholas Andromidas">Nicholas Andromidas</a> started jamming after days of snowboarding in Vermont. They quickly recorded a demo and began playing shows around New England.
Pianist Michael McCarthy joined shortly after and the new lineup soon wrote an album.
In the spring of 2021 they commenced recording their first full length at One 13 Studios with Producers Mak Irwin and Mark Willson.
Their debut album Jamming in My Snowpants is out now.
Bummer Status is known for eclectic live performances featuring plenty of originals not on their album, covers both niche and well known, and extended improvisations on their songs. To explain this type of sound they use the term Jampunk.
