Burned at the Stake was formed in 2019 by tattoo artist and Church of Satan Priest Andy Howl on vocals and metal guitarist and guitar maker James S. Scott as the primary song writer.

The bands influences originally grew out of a mix of hardcore punk, death metal and black metal. Over the years the band has refined its style and tone to focus on the speed and intensity of black metal merged with the depth and despair of modern doom metal. The bands inspirations are firmly rooted in Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin mixed with newer artists such as Satyricon, Belphegor, Gorgoroth, Monolord and Cough.

The groups current line up consists of both dual bass and guitars, creating a sound that is deep, intense, and earth shaking.

Vocalist Andy Howl also handles artwork and visuals for the band, making for a singular apocalyptic vision.
