Bushali

famously known as Bushali embarked on his HipHop journey in Rwanda in 2013. Back then, the genre was quite unpopular in the country, with a few expections of old school rappers who dared to express the art in the early 2000s. Like in any other country, our genre is understood by few and sees low listener adoption. It was extremely challenging to walk this path with such little industry growth and exposure, but fortunately, the local and diaspora Rwandan audiences fell in love with my craft and boosted my music to reach millions of people across the globe.

Bushali’s music is well known for warming up any audience, from young to middle-aged and elderly crowds, corporate and entertainment functions, as well as in a variety of settings from private ceremonies to concerts in arenas. Some of his greatest hits include Kugasima, Ni tuebue, and Niyibizi. These jams stole the hearts of many Rwandans who connected with the artist’s path.

Bushali is passionate about poverty eradication and using art as an instrument for development. He is determined to prove to young people that their talents can help them succeed in life and become contributing members of the community. He hopes his journey can inspire even the most disadvantaged youth to dream and work hard. While he still has a long journey ahead, at 26 he is proud to say that all the hardships, the scrutiny, the long nights and hard work that comes with the career have been worth it and have taken him very far.
