Buzzie from Austin, Texas.
Led by frontman, songwriter, and lead singer John McElhenney. McElhenney has also fronted several other bands, including Indie Pop wonder Blue Cartoon, and his electronica band The Martian Dust Devils. John has been playing music since 7th grade, when his mom gave him a Fender Precision bass for his birthday. He's been playing music in some form ever since.
Early Buzzie bands included Ron Flynt (20/20) bass and production. Dayna Meyser (Cotton Mather) on drums, and a slew of guest artists. Some guest vocalists include Sara Hickman, Mark Hallman, Lisa Tingle, and Noëlle Hampton.
Buzzie 2.0 was together for several years, performing live occasionally at The Saxon Pub, The Sahara Lounge, and The Garage. Though this band never put out an official release you can hear Buzzie 2.0 on the newly released Final Burn collection.
Buzzie 2025 is more of a collective at this point, still fronted by John McElhenney, the live band includes members of several other bands and some returning artists from earlier versions of the band.
