I’m a muso from a small country town that's trying to turn the psalms of the Bible into songs we can sing, both at church and in our day-to-day.
By the Gates of Ai’s Ashes is a project which is rooted in the ancient poetry of the Psalms, blending their honesty with melody.
My hope is that this music can be for more than listening; but that it can be useful for learning, remembering, and equipping us with songs and praise through all the ups and downs of life.
The name, drawn from the ruins of Ai in the book of Joshua, points to both judgment and mercy—to the broken places where grace still meets us. From lament to praise, these Psalms walk the full emotional landscape of faith.
For the one who’s delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on it day and night, is like a tree planted by streams of water..
